Lynn was appointed to Edge Park UMC in June, 2009.  His nearly thirty years in ministry have led him to conclude that … there is so much more to learn!  But that hasn’t stopped him from training laity and developing staff and preaching each Sunday from his own grateful and growing understanding of the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Pastor Lynn has undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from Texas Tech University, Asbury Theological Seminary, and Abilene Christian University, all of which means absolutely nothing to the Starbucks barista asking for a $ 1.75 for a cup of coffee.   But he can dream ,… and, in fact, that may be his best gift: dreaming up ministries and outreach opportunities ( and more work)  for a church that loves him anyway!
To make dreams into reality, Lynn spends a large portion of his time meeting with those who can make things happen – like the incredible staff members who serve “Edge Parkers,” and dedicated lay leaders who do the details (and keep Lynn’s feet to the ground.)  And when the day is over, we are all praying that the Kingdom of God is a little nearer than when we started.  
His life at home is enriched by, Jill, his wife of 37 years and their two dogs, Trevor and Tanner.  Three kids, - Lenae, David and Allison - have come and gone, … and still come and go, but not as much as Lynn and Jill would like!  There is also a beautiful daughter-in-law, Leah Beth, and two wonderful grandsons out in California with their son, David.  Joel and Silas are already making a big, fun difference in this world!
If time allows, Pastor Lynn loves to sail his boat, “In Due Time,” on the waters of Lake Grapevine, and if the weather is not good, he’ll be making sawdust in his woodshop.  Either way, life is good!
